How is 'Feature Weddings' Films different from other videographers?

We specialize in creating more than just a wedding video. We strive to deliver a truly cinematic experience that captures the essence of your unique relationship and the most important day of your life. As a convenient one-stop-shop, you can visit our office and meet Nayz + Ben to discuss both your photo and video options in a single session. We understand that you already have a lot on your plate, and we want to make the process as streamlined as possible, avoiding any unnecessary repetition.

What sets us apart is what we don’t do:

Cookie-cutter, generic videos (or raw footage): We steer clear of templates and generic footage, ensuring that your video is personalized and tailored specifically to you.
Unnatural dramatic effects: Our approach focuses on capturing the natural emotions and genuine moments of your wedding day. We avoid excessive or artificial dramatic effects that may take away from the authenticity of the experience.
Trendy music or effects that become embarrassing over time: We carefully select music and effects that stand the test of time. You can rest assured that your video will remain timeless and enjoyable, without the risk of feeling outdated in the future.
Mismatched audio + visuals: We pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure that the audio and visuals in your video are perfectly synchronized and harmonious. The final result will be a seamless and cohesive representation of your special day.
Forcing our personality on your video: We respect your individuality and understand that your wedding day is about you. Our goal is to reflect your unique style and personality, not to impose our own. Your video will showcase your love story authentically, with a focus on capturing the essence of who you are.

One of us (or both of us) is camera-shy. What should we do?

We understand that not everyone has the experience of being filmed and photographed by professionals on a regular basis, unless you’re an Instagram model or a celebrity. That’s why we believe in building a strong relationship with you even before you make a decision to work with us. We value the importance of investing time in getting to know your preferences and personality.

To facilitate this connection, we offer casual coffee meetings or FaceTime chats where we can sit down and have a relaxed conversation. This allows us to understand your unique vision for your wedding day and ensures that we can tailor our services to your specific needs. By taking the time to know you better, we can create a more personalized and meaningful experience that truly reflects who you are as a couple.

At Feature Weddings, we believe that building a relationship with our clients is the key to capturing those special moments in a way that resonates with your individuality. We are dedicated to going above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and understood throughout the entire process. Who picks the music?

We do! This is because we need to pay to license the music to avoid copyright infringement. It’s also essential that the music will complement the feel of your wedding day without sounding outdated after 10 years. If there is a specific song that’s very meaningful for you and it will definitely fit your day, let us know, and we’ll see if we can license it!

Our wedding is 10 hours long - will we get a 10-hour video?

As much as we would love to edit a 10-hour long video, unfortunately, no! We are a short-form film squad – so that means we don’t capture every second of your day (like a CCTV) – we only capture the moments you will care about. Here’s a different way to think about it. Hollywood takes 10-12 months (or more) to shoot a film – then whittle all those footage down into a compelling movie that’s just 1.5 hours long. That’s what we’ll do with your movie. We’ll take the very best moments of your day, and we will thoughtfully edit it down to create a non-boring, meaty-yet-digestible, beautiful wedding film. The final highlight film is usually 3-4 minutes long.

Do you supply raw footage?

No, we don’t. Because the full power of your film experience is not just in our shooting but in the weeks of cutting, colour grading, audio engineering with our editor magician-level editing. Asking for “raw” footage from our cameras is like asking for raw beef at a burger shop. It’s kinda gross. (And eating it will give you awful runs.) Instead, what we’d want you to experience is an out-of-the-world gourmet burger with a fried goat cheese topping. Mmm-hmm. If there’s a special moment that we absolutely should not miss – tell us in advance and we’ll add it to your films instead.

When will you deliver our film/s to us?

We believe in delivering high-quality films that will become cherished heirlooms for your family. While we take the time to meticulously create and polish your films, we understand that you’re excited to relive your special day. Here’s what you can expect in terms of turnaround time:

Your 4-6 minute Highlight film will be available for you to enjoy online within 60 days after your wedding.
If you have ordered longer films, they will be completed no later than 90 days after your wedding.

We believe that crafting heirlooms requires careful attention to detail and a dedication to excellence. We want to ensure that your films truly reflect the significance and beauty of your wedding day. We take the necessary time to curate and refine every aspect of your films, so they can be treasured for generations to come.

However, we understand that some couples may prefer a faster turnaround. That’s why we offer a V.I.P. rush editing service.

With this option, all your films will be completed within just one month after your wedding. This allows you to receive your films promptly while maintaining our commitment to exceptional quality.

Whether you choose our standard turnaround or opt for the V.I.P. rush editing, rest assured that we will put our utmost care and expertise into creating films that capture the essence of your wedding day and become timeless keepsakes for your family.

How will you work with our photographer?

We believe that both photos and films are equally important – so we’ll do our best to collaborate with them and stay out of each other’s way. If we haven’t worked with your photographer yet, we’ll take the time to get in touch with them a few days or weeks before your wedding so we can create a game plan together. Easy!

Do you guys join us for dinner?

Obviously, we don’t have to sit at the head table, but without food, we can’t perform. The best timing for us to eat is when you eat. Because most of the time that’s when nothing is happening and we don’t miss anything and continue with loads of energy right after. This is important to discuss with the caterer beforehand.

Cancellation Fee?

Once the deposit is paid, it is non-refundable, regardless of whether or not your booking goes ahead. If you choose to cancel your booking before final payment, you will no longer be liable to pay the remaining 50% balance.

OK, we LOVE you! What’s the next step to book you?

Awesome! We’re going to have so much fun! The first thing we’ll do is to set up a casual meet and greet over the phone – so we can get to know each other and recommend what collection will work for you best. To be fair to everyone, we don’t pencil in dates. We can only be secured through the 50% deposit fee and a signed Agreement. The final balance is due 7 days before your wedding day.
